About The Star Fighter Pilot

Photo by Rebecca Lee The Star Fighter Pilot melds noisy, dirty electronic pop with a witty singer-songwriter ethic.  The result is a sound akin to Beck leading Super Furry Animals into laser gunfight with Hot Chip.

Better known to his friends as Manchester’s Martin Bryant, his low-key releases have so far gained glowing reviews from the likes of Drowned In Sound and High Voltage.  Meanwhile his live show has seen him supporting acts as diverse as Bis, Dragonette, Jeremy Warmsley and Scouting For Girls.

In late 2007 he released a 7” split EP on Leaving Home Records featuring ‘Another Penny’ and ‘Drunk With You’. Some nefarious fellow then shared ‘Another Penny’ as part of an unauthorised ‘Indie Playlist’ compilation album which has since been downloaded thousands of times and gained The Star Fighter Pilot fans around the world.

The ‘Kingdom Hearts’ EP is released by Filthy Little Angels as a download on www.filthylittleangels.com on the 29th of May 2008. This will be followed by a contribution to a double 7” EP of one-minute-long songs (again through Filthy Little Angels) in the summer.
